Check it out on Google...It comes up with the same answer.Agriculture is an integral part of our identity. Then why are our farmers the victims of neglect from state as well as the society? Why is it that if you state your vocation as farming, the banks and insurance companies that are usually too enthusiastic regarding your dream house and car loose their interest?
The numbers say it all. About 70% of our population is economically dependent on agriculture. It is the largest employer. However, its contribution to GDP has steadily declined to a mere 13.9%. The service sector that employs around 17% of the population contributes nearly 60% to the GDP. This discrepancy has led to income imbalance, loss of respectability for agriculture as a profession and destruction of dignity of farmers.-
We are all familiar with problems that plague our country; some of us are aware of the prevalent solutions as well...the subsidies, the schemes and programmes - with complex words preceded by heavy names to provide them with some credibility. However, are they really working? Will ready- made imported solutions work for our unique country? Shouldn't they be tailor-made, customized specially for India?
Once in life, everyone comes across an irritatingly, bothersome problem...not of a personal kind...but it plagues you day and night and invades your thoughts. You have a choice - neglect it and move on or embrace it. If for some reason you decide to embrace, it becomes your talisman and changes your life as you know it!
Abhyudaya Global Village School is our talisman. It was born out of the zeal ( some call it an itch) to do something for two sectors that would define the future of our country - Agriculture and Education! .
We realized that the one of the important reasons for the failure of rural education system was the complete disconnect between rural conditions, rural aspirations and our conventional education. Our Solution? -
With pen and tractor...this is how we aim to revolutionize the education landscape in rural India. Abhyudaya [ Rising Sun] Global Village School is an agro- centric school
that aims to create entrepreneurs who are globally competitive while being connected to their roots. In the country that has its identity intricately linked with agriculture, the occupation has lost its respectability and the farmer his dignity. We believe that the solution to India's socio-economic problem lies in educating future agriculturists and equipping them with globally competitive knowledge and skills. Thus, the school combines CBSE curriculum with practical, latest and diverse knowledge of the green fields. You will find our kids doing math and enjoying in the green houses. They don't just learn about environment they work to sustain it. We are creating persons with individual identities, capabilities and life skills who will grow up to contribute as upright citizens and innovative job creators in the development journey of India.
